This course will discuss polymer synthesis, structure and properties with an emphasis on functional polymers (polyelectrolytes, conductive polymers) and polymer materials. Basics of soft matter including colloids, amphiphiles and liquid crystals will be introduced. Prerequisites: CH111 or CH131 (CH203 or CH207 recommended). Notes: 3 lecture hours, 1 tutorial hour.
